A taxonomy for the financing of health for all - P4H Network

A taxonomy for the financing of health for all

There is a need to change the language of health financing to include a health for all mindset. The article advocates for a health taxonomy to guide public and private investments, enhancing global health system resilience and equity.

The COVID-19 pandemic, frequent natural disasters, and geopolitical events underscore the urgent need for resilient health systems capable of efficient recovery in adverse conditions. To enhance global preparedness, a collaborative approach involving both government oversight and private sector participation is crucial. This article advocates for the development of a health taxonomy, inspired by the EU’s climate taxonomy, to guide and mobilize private and public investments in health systems. By establishing clear, measurable health metrics, this taxonomy aims to align economic activities with public health priorities, incentivize impactful health initiatives, and advance global health equity.
