The project aims to improve maternal and child health by targeting 2 specific objectives: (i) Improve the use of quality healthcare services in Djibouti, (ii) Strengthen the steering, regulatory and planning capacities of the Ministry of Health.
The main expected effects are :
- Improved use of Djibouti Ville’s polyclinics by women and children (pre- and post-natal consultations, assisted deliveries, vaccinations);
- Improving reception and working conditions at the 6 polyclinics, taking into account energy efficiency, climate resilience (bioclimatic architecture) and hospital biomedical waste management;
- Greater involvement of the communities served by the polyclinics in local health governance, and greater involvement of these communities in health promotion activities, with particular attention to the participation of women;
- Improving sectoral governance and regulation, by standardizing health services and care, updating the health map and drafting a Public Health Code.
