The World Economic Forum, in collaboration with the McKinsey Health Institute, has published Blueprint to Close the Women’s Health Gap: How to Improve Lives and Economies for All. This report talks about the societal and economic benefits of addressing disparities in women’s health, focusing on nine key conditions that drive a third of the health gap, including breast cancer, menopause, and ischaemic heart disease.
By introducing the Women’s Health Impact Tracking (WHIT) platform, the report provides tools to measure and track women’s health outcomes and emphasises actionable steps across research, care, inclusion, and investment. The analysis reveals that closing the women’s health gap could add $400 billion to the global GDP and improve the quality of life for millions of women worldwide by 2040.
This blueprint asks for governments, healthcare providers, and investors to prioritise women’s health, fostering healthier lives and more inclusive economies.
