This peer-reviewed article aims to evaluate the health care services that caused a rise in the ratio of households with catastrophic health expenditures in Turkey since 2012. These had previously been positively affected by the Health Transformation Program and fundamental changes in health policies initiated in 2003. 
The study discusses the possible policy reasons for the observed effects.
