This scoping review explores the landscape of health financing frameworks, aiming to understand their dimensions and applicability in assessing health financing systems. Through a comprehensive analysis of 21 identified frameworks, the study categorizes them based on their focus, revealing three main groups: general recommendations for health financing improvement, enhancement of health insurance schemes, and management of public health financing. Despite their diversity, these frameworks offer complementary perspectives and a holistic understanding of health financing systems. The study underscores the importance of considering local contextual factors when selecting a framework, highlighting their dynamic nature and adaptability to evolving challenges and opportunities. Ultimately, policymakers can leverage these frameworks to make informed decisions tailored to their specific health financing needs and objectives.
