Compulsory health insurance in Croatia is provided by the Croatian Health Insurance Institute. Compulsory health insurance provides all insured persons with the rights and obligations on the principles of reciprocity, solidarity and equality. Compulsory health insurance in Croatia is regulated by the Compulsory health insurance Act (Official Gazette, no. 80/13, 137/13, 98/19 and 33/23), effective since April 1, 2023.
