The concept note discusses regional networking opportunities in the Asia and Pacific region complementary to regional partnership work in the area of health financing and social health protection for UHC. The main objective is to support and coordinate regional initiatives to move towards UHC by reviewing, updating, improving, implementing, monitoring and evaluating health financing and social protection reform policies and activities. The network can create a space for all partners to address and promote knowledge and best practices in aligning available resources with national and regional priorities using evidence base policies. In other words, the network can be promoted as a regional platform where all relevant partners inclusive of government stakeholders, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), academic and research institutions, civil society organizations (CSOs), development partners and UN organizations are well connected, informed and involved in activities to develop and implement multi-disciplinary, coherent, consolidated and quality country work. The note lightens operational objectives, focuses and potential benefits of promoting a content specific and outcome oriented network in Asia and the Pacific region.
