WHO has organized an “experience-sharing laboratory” on Universal Health Insurance in Saly, Senegal, in November 2019. This laboratory provided an opportunity to compile information on the main health risk coverage schemes in 7 French-speaking West African countries (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Mali, Mauritania, Togo and Senegal) in a co-production document. This document provides a number of cross-analyses based on this information, sometimes supplemented by specific exchanges with the countries concerned.
