The aim of this study is therefore to suggest a number of strategic orientations specific to the context of the French-speaking countries of West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Senegal and Togo) with a view to the effective inclusion of the informal sector in the CSU. These options will be based both on country-specific data analysis and on international experience. The countries were selected on the basis of their location (West African countries), their progress to date in the field of CSU, their level of interest in the development of this policy and the possibility of integrating the resulting recommendations.
