Exploring health insurance services in Sudan from the perspectives of insurers

A range of health insurance options including Social Health Insurance exist in Sudan.  Social Health Insurance is compulsory for the formal sector, although voluntary for the informal sector and small companies (≤10 employees). Private health insurance companies provide voluntary insurance services, mainly for the employees of private companies and international organizations.  Sudan still faces a long road to travel to reach universal health coverage. This peer-reviewed study looks at insurers’ insight regarding their perception of the services they provide and the challenges facing them and may allow for a better understanding of the challenges to be addressed.
