This study looks at the budgetary space for health in Cameroon and aims to propose recommendations for increasing the availability and volume of resources devoted to this sector. It aims to support the country in financing its health development, notably through the implementation of systemic reforms to make patient care and healthcare financing more efficient and effective, and to develop a health financing strategy to move towards universal health coverage in Cameroon. The study focused on three main areas: the volume and source of funds devoted to healthcare in the country, allocative efficiency and technical efficiency. These analyses are based on a detailed study of national health budgets (2014, 2015 and 2016), a review of reports published by the Ministry of Health and international partners, and interviews with key players in program implementation and budget planning.
