Law 18211 Creation of the Integrated National Health System

This law establishes the right to health protection for all inhabitants residing in the Oriental Republic of Uruguay and the different modalities for their access to comprehensive health services.

The implementation of the National Integrated Health System is the responsibility of the Ministry of Public Health, which must articulate public and private health care providers. The benefits provided by the providers that make up the National Integrated Health System entitle them to charge a health fee according to the number of persons registered in their lists.
