Law instituting universal health insurance in Togo

This law institutes universal health insurance (AMU) in the Togolese Republic.
Universal health insurance is based on the principles of solidarity, equity, risk pooling, individual and collective responsibility and progressiveness, in order to guarantee all residents throughout Togo access to a minimum level of health care under sustainable financial conditions.

The principle of progressivity applies to the basket of treatments offered, the population covered and the co-payments payable by beneficiaries, taking into account changes in the supply of care and the availability of financial resources.
