The aim of this exercise is to estimate and analyze the distribution of healthcare expenditure according to the dimensions of the health accounts.
Total healthcare expenditure in 2020 is estimated at 364.65 billion FCFA, including 352.48 billion FCFA for current expenditure and 12.18 billion FCFA for investments.
This compares with 420.720 billion FCFA, including 387.719 billion FCFA for current expenditure and 33.001 billion FCFA for capital expenditure in 2019.
Total expenditure fell by 13.33% between 2019 and 2020.
This could be explained by the advent of the Corona virus pandemic and the country’s political and security situation.
