The Jordanian National Social Protection Strategy articulates the Government’s commitment to break the intergenerational cycle of poverty and provide a social protection floor in the context of the Kingdom’s vision for a state that has social justice, equity, and financial risk protection.
One of the three pillars of this strategy is decent work and social security that includes social health protection, providing an analysis of the existing situation and challenges in expanding coverage, as well as identifying the high priority actions. Enhancing the efficiency and transparency of government spending on the health sector, improving primary health care services, and ensuring affordable social care and protection programs are some of the areas the government is focusing on.
