The draft national health policy (PNS) is based on a 2030 vision for universal health coverage. It was developed as part of the second phase of the societal dialogue on national health policies, strategies and plans, following a participatory and inclusive process.
The SNP sets targets for 2030, which are an integral part of the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular for :
- mortality, to reduce maternal mortality to 18.7 per hundred thousand births (44.8)1 ;
- risk factors, to reduce the prevalence of obesity in the over-15s to 20% (26.2);
- the performance of the healthcare system: to achieve 40% of patients with balanced hypertension (24.3%);
- access to quality healthcare: reach 60% of the population living less than half an hour from an accredited primary healthcare center (0%);
- financial protection against illness: ensure 100% coverage of the population by the unified basic plan (83.2%) and reduce direct household expenditure on non-reimbursed health care to 25% (38%);
- the viability of an equitable, high-quality healthcare system: increase public spending on healthcare to 6% (4.4%).
