This high-level review by USAID’s Health Finance and Governance Activity, of the process in the public health system in Jordan identifies key areas such as benefit package design and mixed provider payment systems that could be targeted for strategic purchasing interventions in primary health care (PHC). The narrative describes key elements that need to be in place to effectively establish strategic purchasing within the Ministry of Health.
