Launch of the National Health Financing Strategy by the President of the Republic.

Creation of the Health Economics Cellule in July 2017.

2018

44.5%

The penetration rate of mutual health insurance is 44.5% of the target population.

18.5%

The coverage rate of the Senegalese population by health mutuals is 18.5%.

The coverage rate for all schemes combined (formal and informal people) is 49.3%.

2019

Launch of the third National Health and Social Development Program 2019-2028.

Transfer of the Agency of Universal Health Insurance from the supervision of Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Social Equuity.
