The P4H network supported in-depth discussions of the health financing options and recommendations of the 2009 P4H mission report in Feb 2010 in Kampala. The team recognized the need to provide more details on the pros and cons of the different options, and to provide policy briefs using appropriate (non-technical) language for communication/interaction with a broader audience at different levels (political, general public, etc.). The in-depth discussion on alternative health financing options initiated a more strategic approach towards the revision of the proposed draft bill. The P4H team again emphasized the importance of integrating the revision of the draft bill in the broader health reform process and linking it with the social protection framework.
