Australia approves $2.3 billion to mental health and suicide prevention over the next four years.
- $156.8 million from the federal government is funded to three months of follow-up care for people discharged from hospital after a suicide attempt.
- $22 million is funded to support the people who are bereaved by suicide, which will go towards funding services in conjunction with states and territories.
- $61.6 million over four years is allocated to strategies for suicide prevention will be boosted with, expanding the work of the National Suicide Prevention Leadership and Support Program.
