The Minister of Health and Public Hygiene, Robert Lucien Jean Claude Kargougou, took up his duties in Ouagadougou on Wednesday March 9, 2022.
Dr Kargougou is no stranger to Burkina Faso’s healthcare sector. He has practiced in Burkina Faso and worked for international organizations. He is a public health physician and a specialist in health systems policy and management. He holds degrees in nutritional epidemiology and in the management of public vaccine prevention systems. The man is an expert in health services organization and health planning.
In his address, the new head of the health department said he was aware of the scale of the task ahead. Robert Lucien Jean Claude Kargougou recalled that health and public hygiene directly affect human beings. It is therefore important to respond with self-sacrifice and humanism. ” I have come so that together we can strengthen the achievements of our healthcare system and improve the shortcomings in line with the transition agenda. “he said.
Robert Lucien Jean Claude Kargougou thus becomes the 31st minister to hold this position.
