For several years, Burkina Faso has been facing an unprecedented security crisis. On Thursday, September 01, 2022, the country commemorated the International Day of Remembrance in honor of the victims of terrorism instituted in August 2017 by the United Nations General Assembly. On the same occasion, the government paid tribute to the victims of terrorism in Burkina Faso. The defense and security forces (FDS) are paying a heavy price in this war against the terrorist hydra, with the corollary of permanent stress on the armed forces’ health services.
In a memo dated September 16, 2022, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health instructed the 1st heads of regional health centers in the localities most affected by terrorism, to take steps to ensure that all FDS agents coming from combat zones receive free care without delay.
