The second steering committee for the development of the national health financing strategy was held today, Tuesday, October 10, 2017, in the PADS meeting room in Ouagadougou. The Committee, chaired by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Health, drew its members from the various departments of the Ministry of Health and the Ministries of Regional Planning, Social Protection, Economy and Finance, as well as representatives of trade unions, the private sector and civil society. The document was adopted. A few minor changes will be made before it goes to the Council of Ministers. As a reminder, the strategy development process can be traced back at least to the scoping workshop held on February 10, 2015. It’s also worth noting that there is so much convergence between the development of mechanisms and the adoption of systemic guidelines, that the dossier could be submitted to the Council of Ministers at more or less the same time as the dossier for the creation of the CNAMU.
