On February 17, 2022, the quarterly meeting of the Coordination Framework of Partners for Health and Development was held in Bujumbura. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Public Health and attended by representatives of the European Union and WHO. The status of the health financing strategy development process was presented and an updated timetable adopted.
What’s also important to note is the progress in dialogue and collaboration between the Ministries of Health and National Solidarity in charge of social protection.
A technical committee and a steering committee are expected to be set up to oversee the process of drawing up the health financing strategy, chaired by the Prime Minister’s Office with the participation of the administrations concerned, including the Ministry of Finance and partners.
