Setting up the CSU is still one of Burundi’s national priorities. The development of Burundi’s health financing strategy will enable the country to move towards UHC, and is guided by advocacy supported by the country’s political will, legal instruments and institutional bodies to be put in place at national level.
In this context, a Steering Committee for the development of a health financing strategy was set up, and a Technical Working Group (TWG) created to support a consultant recruited with the support of the WHO and the WB, with a view to realizing this vision.
From August 30 to September 02, the Technical Working Group for the development of Burundi’s health financing strategy organized a workshop to analyze the options for a health financing strategy towards the CSU in Burundi.
