The Minister of Health, Dr Robert Kargougou, chaired a meeting on key reforms: a monthly payment for free care and a digital platform for licenses. These initiatives aim to improve payment regularity and access to healthcare in Burkina Faso.
The Minister of Health, Dr Robert Kargougou, chaired a cabinet meeting for his department in Burkina Faso on Thursday afternoon, focusing on strategic issues.
Monthly payment for free medical care
The files concerned are essentially the monthly payment strategy in the context of free healthcare, presented by the Technical Secretariat for Health Financing Reforms (ST-RFS), and the digital platform for managing business licenses, presented by Dr Thomas Ouédraogo, Director of the Private Health Sector (DSPS).
According to the vision of the Department of Health, the introduction of the monthly payment strategy as part of the free health care system is intended to optimize the implementation of free health care. The aim of this reform is to ensure regular payments to health facilities, thereby guaranteeing effective, ongoing care for patients.
A digital platform for licensing
In addition, the Ministry of Health is continuing its modernization drive with the introduction of a digital platform dedicated to the management of business licenses in the healthcare sector. This tool will facilitate and accelerate administrative procedures, while enhancing the transparency and efficiency of the system.
