CANAM Mali: The 2022 budget amounts to more than 87 billion FCFA

On Thursday November 25, 2021, the Conseil national du Patronat du Mali (CNPM) hosted the opening ceremony of the 23rd ordinary session of the Board of Directors of the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie (CANAM).

In his opening speech, the Chairman of the Caisse’s Board of Directors announced that the 2022 draft budget, taking all sources of financing into account, would total 87,494,167,927 FCFA in revenue and expenditure, compared with 75,063,000,000 FCFA in 2021, representing an increase of 16.56%.

 

“194 of the 269 activities scheduled for 2021 have been completed or are in progress, representing a completion rate of 72%. Despite the constraints and difficulties encountered, notably the advent of the coronavirus disease, the activities carried out have helped to improve financial management, CANAM’s operations, the provision of quality services, staff capacity building and the improvement of their working environment.”

The draft budget for 2022, all sources of financing combined, amounts to 87,494,167,927 FCFA in revenue and expenditure, compared with 75,063,000,000 FCFA in 2021, an increase of 16.56%,” said Pr. Mamady KANE.

According to Pr KANE, “Technical expenditure amounts to 62,548,555,740 FCFA, representing 71.49% of total expenditure. Between 2021 and 2022, technical expenditure rose by 19.33%. Capital expenditure and equipment amounted to 7,375,887,651 FCFA in 2022, or 8.43% of total expenditure, compared with 4,906,252,039 FCFA in 2021, an increase of 50.34%. Operating expenses will amount to 17,569,724,536 FCFA in 2022, compared with 17,742,210,946 FCFA in 2021, a decrease of 0.97%”.
