CANAM: The new CEO sets the pace

Just three months after his arrival at the head of the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie (CANAM), the new General Manager, Brigadier General Boubacar Dembélé, is setting his own pace and style.

The arrival of the General Manager coincides with the problem of closing and opening policyholder rights at CANAM. A recurring problem that causes inconvenience for policyholders.

In terms of entitlement, the following categories of insured persons and their dependants will benefit from a mass opening of their rights: civil servants; local authority employees; armed forces and security forces; government contract workers; pensioners in both the public and private sectors.

As of January 25, 2021, the Malian Social Security Fund, , had the rights of 497,010 civil servants, municipal employees, members of the armed forces and security forces, parliamentarians and pensioners. At the Institut National de Prévoyance Sociale, the rights of 497010 active insured, voluntary insured and pensioners have been opened.
