In 2018, World Bank’s series of UHC Studies was devoted to Azerbaijan. It is aimed at policy-makers and UHC reform implementers in low- and middle-income countries. Over the last decade, Azerbaijan has been able to increase significantly public resources for health. The additional resources for health were used to renovate the health infrastructure and to increase
the number and availability of pharmaceutical products provided at no cost to the population. These efforts, however, have had only a limited effect on access to health services and on catastrophic health expenditure. More information is available in the UHC Study Series No 28.
