Following an update on the SHI process from ILO during last week’s P4H TCG meeting in Bangkok (see attached ppt), the CD starts an email exchange with involved P4H members on how to bring the support process to the Health Financing Strategy and the establishment of a national Social Health Insurance scheme together.
From a networking [for UHC/SHP] perspective there is a good opportunity to link up the support streams to the HF Strategy (WHO, CHAI, WB) and the SHI development process (ILO, SIDA, DFID, Unicef, Irish?…), to enhance info exchange and facilitate coordination across agencies and levels. Of course it goes without saying that the ownership and leadership of the MoH in both processes is highly appreciated, however the support process could possibly be enhanced if the agencies involved in both work streams would have a better understanding of what the others are doing.
