A week-long training on Costing of Health Services was held in Maputo on 23-27th September, 2019, organized and co-funded by the Ministry of Health, P4H and the WHO.
Costing of health services is considered a key element in progressing towards a more effective allocation and more strategic payment methods in Mozambique.
40 Hospital Administrators, Financial officers and planners participated. Traditional and innovative costing methods have been explored, with a special focus on DRG (Diagnostic Related Groups) and Information Management systems.
A Roadmap has been produced to start with pilot implementation of Costing exercises to be rolled out in the country.
