(…) over the next 5 years, 20 billion Fcfa will be invested ” to provide access to treatment for cancer patients.
The Ivorian Minister of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage, Pierre Dimba, at the launch of the 2021 edition of Octobre rose, organized by the Centre d’oncologie médicale et de radiothérapie Alassane Ouattara (Cnrao) made some major revelations.
According to Mr. Pierre Dimba, ” for the 5 years of the current agreement, 20 billion Fcfa will be invested to make treatment accessible to cancer patients ” throughout Côte d’Ivoire.
In order to support its populations, the Ivorian government has set up a National Cancer Control Program, created and put into operation the Cnrao which counted from January 2018 to August 31, in total, more than 5,000 new patients, including 1,076 for breast cancer, or 19.25%.
Cnrao, inaugurated in 2017, is a public hospital that actually opened its doors in 2018. Patients can pay their bills in instalments.
