On Tuesday, October 26, 2021, the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie (CNAM) organized the second awareness and prevention day called ” Les évènements de la CNAM ” at the foyer des jeunes in Bingerville, with a view to raising local awareness of the need for massive take-up of Universal Health Coverage (CMU).
“We’ve come to establish a platform for dialogue with you. We’ve come to inform you of everything you’re entitled to with the CMU. We’re also here today to raise your awareness of certain pathologies not covered by the CMU and of certain scourges affecting our young people. These include smoking, alcoholism and drugs. Substances that endanger the lives of our children”, emphasized CNAM General Manager Karim Bamba.
Introduced on March 24, 2014, CMU entered its generalization phase on October 1, 2019. As of October 18, 3, ,186, ,427 people had been enrolled, and 3, ,019, ,632 cards had been produced, of which 2, ,114, ,645 had already been distributed. In terms of benefits, the number of insured treated was 181 177, for 568 568 procedures issued and 187 594 prescriptions dispensed.
