Côte d’Ivoire/ Health financing: For a more dynamic PNCF

The Minister of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage, Pierre Dimba, has called for the  Plateforme nationale de coordination du financement de la santé (PNCFS) to make a difference to the health of the population of Côte d’Ivoire.

As a reminder, the Plateforme Nationale de Coordination du Financement de la Santé (PNCFS) created by decree n°260/PM/CAB of April 08, 2019, is a forum for exchange whose responsibilities include:

  • establish consensus on healthcare spending targets and ensure that spending is more efficient,
  • ensure the harmonization, alignment and monitoring of internal and external funding around the objectives defined in the PNDS,
  • strengthen the role of the Ministry of Health in coordinating the health sector and monitoring the implementation of sectoral strategies.

To support the platform’s activities, a workshop financed by the WHO country office was organized from September 15 to 17, 2021, resulting in a working framework in the form of a roadmap setting out the activities to be carried out in light of the platform’s assigned missions.

In convening this December 21 meeting, the Ivorian Minister of Health, Public Hygiene and Universal Health Coverage is inviting all PNCFS stakeholders (the State, donors, civil society and the private sector) to ensure that their responsibilities are fulfilled.
