From June 1 to July 6, several trade union centers will be crisscrossing the markets of Abidjan with the same message: to raise awareness of universal health coverage.
The campaign is led by the Comité Intersyndical pour la Transition vers l’Economie Formelle (CITEF), made up of the five Trade Union Centrals (UGTCI, CISL/Dignité, FESACI, Humanisme and UNATRCI) in collaboration with the Caisse Nationale d’Assurance Maladie (CNAM) under the coordination of the ILO’s Workers’ Department (ACTRAV).
Among other things, the campaign aims to have a universal, high-quality social protection system, contribute to greater participation in the social security system by workers in the informal economy. CMU through their enrolments or promises of enrolment, to restore the confidence of workers in the informal economy in the Republic’s service delivery institutions, including the CNAM.
