In Canberra, Australia, the ACT government allocates approximately $90 million of the 2021-22 ACT budget to support public health response during the COVID-19 pandemic and foster the vaccine rollout.
In addition, another $22.5 million will be funded for the vaccine program to ensure the availability of vaccines for all eligible populations in Canberra.
Almost $65 million will be funded to manage the impact of the pandemic on the ACT community and provide the Chief Health Officer support to respond to the ongoing and evolving pandemic.
Besides, a $500 million boost will be continuously funded over four years in the 2021-22 budget to increase resourcing in response to a rise of demand for essential health services across the ACT public health system and enhanced complexity of health service delivery.
