The Croatian Institute for Health Insurance and the Croatian Institute for Pension Insurance hosted the European Forum of the Insurance Against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases from 4 to 6 June 2024, in Zagreb, Croatia. The conference was titled “Be fit for the Digital Age!”
As reported by the Croatian Health Insurance Institute (HZZO) here, the conference included thematic lectures and interactive discussions on the challenges and opportunities brought by digital transformation in the field of insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases.
Croatia has been the president of the European Forum of the Insurance Against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases for one year. The conference was a key event for the exchange of experiences and knowledge of experts from across Europe, which opened up new questions and opportunities for the further development of insurance against occupational injuries and diseases in the digital age. The three-day event began with working group meetings where the topics of communication, digitalization, legislation and occupational diseases were considered. The second day of the European Forum conference, June 5, continued with presentations and panel discussions on digitization in healthcare, cyber security challenges, digitization in social security systems and new forms of work created by the development of digital technologies. The European Forum of the Insurance against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases is an independent European association of public and private European institutions active in the field of insurance against accidents at work and occupational diseases, with the aim of exchanging information and encouraging mutual cooperation. The Croatian Health Insurance Institute joined the activities of the European Forum for Insurance against Accidents at Work and Occupational Diseases and became its active member in September 2015. At the General Assembly of the European Forum, held on 9 September 2015 in Vienna, the activities of the Croatian Health Insurance Institute as a new member of this European organization were presented and the Statute of the European Forum was signed in the sense of accepting its principles, objectives and methods of work.
