Development of the Germany country page on p4h.world

Most of the p4h.world country pages share a single design. They include an overview of the country’s social health protection (SHP) and health financing (HF) situation, general documents and key documents sections, and a news section. The Republic of Korea and Thailand both feature timelines presenting the historical milestones of SHP and advancement of universal health coverage. The France page showcases unique features that demonstrate information in a didactic way, following an ambitious collaboration with the country representative, led by the Ecole Nationale Supérieure de Sécurité Sociale. The page includes a slide show, historical perspectives using accordions and reports.

In collaboration with the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ), the P4H Coordination Desk (P4H-CD) has been working on further developing the country page for Germany. The key findings from an assessment by the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute of the German HF system provide an in-depth analysis of Germany’s HF structure, governance, financial mechanisms and challenges, alongside comparisons with other HF systems worldwide. The study, yet to be made public, was presented to GIZ staff and the P4H Coordination Team on 17 April 2025.

GIZ and the P4H-CD discussed what lies ahead to revise the Germany page on p4h.world. They acknowledged that sufficient information is now available to draft the revision. The next steps will include the following.

The next steps will include the following.

  • Determining the page components
