Presenting a group of five documents on reducing catastrophic health expenditure and out-of-pocket payments (OOP) and moving towards universal health coverage UHC) through the health transformation plan (HTP) in Iran. One study is on a range of factors that significantly increase the cost of HTP identifies potential solutions to tackle them. Two research articles propose some practical and critical interventions to make health financing more resilient in part by defining and implementing cost control policies and cost-effective package of services. A fourth presents results of a survey that evaluated the impact of HTP to reduce OOP. The last article describes Iran’s HTP and how it has resulted in significant improvements in health outcomes to progress towards UHC.
