Engaging with P4H – June 2011

During the International Labour Conference (ILC 2011), the Togolese delegation, headed by the Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security (MLESS), requests a meeting with the department of Health Systems Financing (HSF) of WHO to discuss the issue of potential WHO technical support regarding progress towards universal health coverage (UHC) in Togo. The WHO/HSF director introduces the P4H network as an instrument for donors’ coordination in the area of social health protection and the Togolese delegation expresses an interest in having further discussions with the P4H coordination desk (P4H-CD). These discussions take place the following day with the participation of a representative of WHO/HSF, and the fundamentals of the P4H network concept is explained. The Togolese delegation decides to collaborate with the different development partners active in the area of UHC within the P4H network.
