WAHO brings together national representatives from ECOWAS countries in charge of universal health coverage issues, with a focus on health insurance. The aim is to develop a “guide”… The P4H “West Africa” focal point came as a representative of the WHO to provide technical support and critical analysis of a rather complicated and methodologically questionable project.
During the meeting, a fruitful exchange took place with the “health financing” focal point of the Niger Ministry of Health’s Research and Planning Department. It became clear to him that he needed a technical assistant specializing in health financing, in particular to bring some order to the support provided by technical and financial partners.
On the strength of this ownership, the P4H focal point proposes to send the Ministry examples of requests for P4H support made by different countries in the sub-region.
