Authorities, national and international experts proposed strategies to move towards the economic and financial sustainability of social security in the country.
The financing situation of Peru ‘s Social Security (EsSalud) was presented by its executive president to the authorities and to national and international specialists in economic and health matters who participated in the forum.
He pointed out that they are facing budgetary challenges, for which they need to develop strategies that will allow them to continue serving both their policyholders and their beneficiaries. He also emphasized that the forum’s contributions would enable them to establish strategic guidelines to move towards sustainability in the coming years. Representatives from the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO), the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), the World Bank and the International Labor Organization (ILO) also participated.
