In the 2021 administration, priority was given to the health sector, allocating a budget of 10% of the consolidated General State Budget, including resources for equipment, construction of medical centers and the creation of new items for human resources. The budget allocated to the health sector was increased by 1.7% compared to that defined by the previous government, prioritizing projects for the construction, equipping and improvement of facilities, such as medical centers and hospitals. Resources were also allocated to finance the Universal Health System, including programs to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
