The Health Care Financing Technical Working Group (HCFTWG) meets on 23 July 2013 at the Blue Crest to discuss the following topics.
1.1. Household health expenditure: has not yet started, more resources needed, rationale confirmed, next steps defined;
1.2. Progress on Health Financing Strategy: drafting to commence soon, rationale outlined, no clear roadmap yet; HFS to be completed by Dec 2013, action point: UNZA to circulate the outline of the studies to be undertaken to the partners.
1.3. SHI updates: benefit package needs more discussion, clarify provider payment, avoid fee-for-service; timeline and action points defined, e.g. submission of bill to parliament by 2nd week of September 2013;
1.4. Preliminary results of 2007 – 2010 NHA: THE per capita increased from $35 in 2007 to $58 in 2010, govt finances 50%, while rest of the world 39% of THE, …
