The WHO Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (EMRO) is going to launch the EMR Health Financing Atlas 2018 during its Regional Committee Meeting, 15-18 October 2018. The document has benefited from the support and technical insights of health financing experts working at global, regional and country levels. The Atlas uses an Analytical Framework of nine elements covering: overall macroeconomic outlook, Health Financing architecture, the three health financing functions (revenue raising, pooling and purchasing), benefits design, and the three UHC dimensions (population coverage, service coverage and financial protection). The analytical section is supplemented with quantitative indicators describing trends in health spending over the past 15 years (from 2000 to 2015) along with scatterplots describing where each EMR Member State stands with regard to other countries in the region and in the world.
