The measure announced by the Transition authorities on April 4, 2024 aims to guarantee access to healthcare for the entire population, in line with the commitments made in the Action Plan for Stabilization and Development (PA-SD).
The decree, which has just been made public but was signed on April 4, sets the contributions for employees and assimilated workers at 5% of gross monthly salary, of which 2.5% is payable by the employer. Similarly, self-employed workers contribute 15,000 FCFA per month and workers in the informal economy 4,000 FCFA per month. Indigent” people benefit from free state-funded care at the rate of 4,000 FCFA per person per month. Retirees will contribute 2% of their pension.
