The Compulsory Medical Insurance Fund (MHIF) of the Kyrgyz Republic reminded what free medical services children can receive at the outpatient level in polyclinics. The Fund noted that such information was relevant during the summer holidays for preventive purposes.
Children under the age of 18 belong to the insured category of citizens, which gives them the right to receive free medical care, the Fund said.
Parents together and children can contact a family doctor at their place of residence to access free basic package of medical services – to have an appointment, consultation, laboratory tests (general blood and urine tests, blood sugar and urine tests, sputum analysis).
If indicated, an electrocardiographic (ECG) may be performed. The MHIF recalled that a general blood test can reveal a number of important indicators of the general condition of the body and can help identifying various diseases in children.
In addition, public dental clinics and offices perform free oral hygiene procedures for children under 10. They also provide free dental consultations and treatment, emergency dental care, including provision of necessary medications.
