In support of its Health Financing Strategy development, the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare (MOHSW) commissioned two additional studies on the Institutional and Organisational Assessment of its current Social Health Insurance System and on Provider Autonomy Options.
All currently ongoing studies in support of the HFS development are expected to rendered results by end-November. These results and recommendations will have to be reviewed and consolidated further by the Health Care Financing Committee (HCFC) in order to provide advise on the formulation of strategic interventions to the Interministerial Steering Committee overseeing the development process. In order to achieve these tasks a 3-day HCFC Technical Retreat is proposed to take place in Dar es Salaam at the end of November, as 4th Workshop in a series of HFS Option Paper Workshops.
