The Health Insurance General Agency (HIGA) collaborates regularly with the World Health Organization (WHO) to strengthen the health insurance system and introduce strategic purchasing for financing healthcare services. This initiative supports member countries in achieving universal health coverage (UHC), following WHO recommendations.
A team of experts, led by Fahdi Dkimi, a specialist in health financing and governance from WHO headquarters, is currently working with HIGA to support these efforts.
Today, a meeting was held with the management of HIGA, where a brief overview of performance-based financing in the health sector and the policy and implementation of health insurance reform was presented. The meeting also included a Q&A session to address various inquiries.
The meeting was attended by department heads, consultants from the Asian Development Bank (ADB), and experts from the WHO Mongolia Country Office.
