The health system measures put into place in Estonia to contain the spread of COVID-19 are:
The government is allocating the health system at least EUR 200 million over three months to cover the extraordinary costs of coronavirus (announced 25 March). Additional EUR 20 million has been earmarked for purchase of personal protective equipment, respirators and testing capabilities.
An increase in shifts, the opening of separate COVID-19 wards, and extraordinary salary increases for frontline staff in health care institutions are foreseen.
